Directed by the Tunsian director Ihsen Kammoun, ‘Road to El Kef,’ features a starry Tunisian cast that includes Fares Landouls, Ahmed Hafiene, Malek Ben Saad, Sawsen Maalej, Alaa Edine Yacoubi.
The film was shot in the Tunisian city of El Kef, and it delves into extremely intricate family issues, drawing attention to fragmented families whose members have fragile relationships, and how the children of these families can be easy targets for terrorist groups and organizations.
From nearly 6000 short films submitted in the festival's competition, ‘Road to El Kef,’ was chosen as one of 60 short films to officially participate in the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. The film, ‘

Fares Landoulsi is a young Tunisian actor who was named one of the Arab Stars of Tomorrow by Screen International in 2019. At the beginning of 2020, he starred in one of Netflix's most popular originals ‘Messiah.’ Moreover, he joined the cast of the Tunisian drama Welad El Ghoul by director Mourad Ben Cheikh that premiered in Ramadan 2021. Aside from starring in the short film ‘Road to El Kef,’ Fares received rave reviews for his astounding performance in the short film Omertà in 2018, which was featured in the Director’s Fortnight section at the Cannes Film Festival.
