Following its successful release in Tunisian cinemas ten days ago and the enormous turnout of audiences, the film, ‘Ghodwa,’ will be screened in theaters in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar on March 17th.

Thus, Cartier and Dhafer L'Abidine, the film's director and actor, will host a special premiere for the film in Dubai on March 15th, in collaboration with MAD Solutions. The premiere will be followed by a reception for the screening's attendees.

Dhafer L'Abidine is Cartier's Middle East brand ambassador, and his film ‘Ghodwa,’ in which he acted and directed is also produced under his company DOUBLE A in cooperation with Dora Bouchoucha's Nomades Image. The film will be shown in VOX Cinemas in the UAE, Qatar, and then Lebanon, with a date to be set later.

‘Ghodwa,’ was co-written by Dhaffer L'Abidine and the screenwriter Ahmed Amer. The plot of the film follows Habib and his 15-year-old son Ahmed, from his previous marriage, who are brought together by Habib’s worsening state of health.

Habib’s political past during the dictatorship in Tunisia is dangerously affecting his present, so the roles are reversed, Ahmed finds himself obliged to protect his father and try to keep him safe. Habib and Ahmed find themselves in a chaotic position that neither is prepared for.

The film ‘Ghodwa,’ has a star-studded cast including, Dhafer L'Abidine, Najla Ben Abdallah, Bahri Rahal, Ghanem Zrelli, Rabeb Srairi, and Ahmed Berrhouma.

The world premiere of the film was at the 43rd Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) in December 2021, where the film took home the Jury Prize for FIPRESCI (The International Federation of Film Critics).
