Tunisia Celebrates Economic Diplomacy at a Summit Bringing Together Tunisian and African Ambassadors

**Tunis, Sallam Awad – The Tunisia Africa Business Council (TABC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, hosted a prestigious reception last night in Tunis to honor Tunisian ambassadors accredited abroad and heads of African diplomatic and consular missions based in Tunisia.

In a warm and convivial atmosphere, the event provided an opportunity to review the achievements of the past year and outline prospects for strengthening South-South cooperation, aligned with sustainable development and economic partnership goals.

**Foreign Minister: Advancing Economic Diplomacy**

In his speech, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ali Nafti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, praised the strategic importance of initiatives like the **TUCAD – Tunisia Consortium for African Development**.

He highlighted the pivotal role of public institutions, such as embassies, and private actors, like TABC, in anchoring Tunisia within its natural African sphere.

The minister called for collective mobilization, uniting public and private sectors, to bolster the tools of economic diplomacy and amplify Tunisia’s influence across the African continent. 

**TUCAD and 2025 Roadmap Unveiled by Anis Jaziri**

Mr. Anis Jaziri, President of TABC, introduced **TUCAD**, an ambitious initiative aimed at uniting Tunisian companies to penetrate African markets in strategic sectors such as infrastructure, energy, transportation, and telecommunications.

He also revealed TABC’s action plan for the second half of 2025, reflecting Tunisia’s ambition to position itself as a key economic player in Africa:

  • - **September 4-10**: *Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF)*, Algiers – A continental trade fair organized by Afreximbank, featuring over 1,600 exhibitors.
  • - **October 7-8**: *Invest in Senegal Forum*, Dakar – An investment platform aligned with Senegal’s Vision 2050.
  • - **October 9-10**: *Invest in Burkina Faso Forum*, Ouagadougou – Strengthening regional cooperation.
  • - **October 28-November 1**: Multisectoral mission to Guinea – On the sidelines of the 2nd edition of the *Forum for Inclusive Growth in Africa*.
  • - **November 13**: *FITA Pitch Days*, Tunis – Connecting project leaders with investors and funding bodies. - **December**: Multisectoral mission to Benin, Cotonou – In partnership with REVIA.

The reception marked a significant milestone in bridging diplomacy and economics, reinforcing Tunisia’s role as a driving force for African integration.

TABC reaffirmed its commitment to amplifying the voice of Tunisian businesses on a continental scale, in close collaboration with embassies, African partners, and national institutions. 

This initiative underscores Tunisia’s determination to strengthen its economic presence in Africa while promoting sustainable and inclusive cooperation.
