Rim Shaker:- Cairo International Film Festival, presided over by acclaimed actor Hussein Fahmy, is pleased to announce its partnership with Sofitel Cairo Downtown Nile, which will serve as the official hotel for the festival’s 46th edition, taking place from November 12 to 21, 2025, under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture.

This collaboration reflects the festival’s commitment to providing the highest standards of comfort and hospitality to its guests from around the world, underscoring Cairo’s status as a major cultural and cinematic destination and enhancing the exceptional experience offered to filmmakers, artists, journalists, and critics attending the festival’s events.
The selection of Sofitel Cairo Downtown Nile followed a thorough technical and financial evaluation conducted by the festival’s specialized committees. The hotel was chosen for its world-class hospitality services, prime Nile-front location offering easy access to the festival’s screening and event venues, and its proven track record in hosting major international events.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Mr. Ahmed El-Shandawily, General Manager of Sofitel Cairo Downtown Nile, and Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Hassan, Senior Sales Manager. Commenting on the partnership, Hussein Fahmy, President of Cairo International Film Festival, said:
“We are proud to partner with Sofitel Cairo Downtown Nile, which blends French luxury with authentic Egyptian hospitality. Having a partner of this caliber ensures our guests an exceptional stay that befits the legacy of Egyptian cinema and the international stature of the festival.”
Cairo International Film Festival affirms that this partnership represents an extension of the fruitful cooperation between Egypt’s leading cultural and tourism institutions in supporting the arts and reinforcing Egypt’s image as a capital of culture and creativity — where art and hospitality meet in their finest form.
Founded in 1976, Cairo International Film Festival is one of the oldest and most prestigious film festivals in the Arab world and Africa, and the only festival in the region classified as a “Category A” festival by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF) in Paris. It is held annually under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture.
